Blankenberge Belgian Beer Cafe

The Blankenberge Belgian Beer Cafe, located at 134-138 Hurstmere Road, has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. Originally a government bungalow site, it was later transformed into a garage, used car yard, and retail stores. In 1996, it became home to the Rangitoto Brewing Company and R'toto Pub and Café before being officially opened as the Blankenberge Belgian Beer Café in 2002. The café, named after Belgium's popular seaside resort, aims to reflect Belgian culture and offers a combination of French finesse and German generosity in its food, paired with a selection of world-famous beers. A popular dish at the café is "Moules 20 ways," featuring Green Lipped New Zealand Mussels steamed and served in traditional pots with flavors from around the globe.
