Pallet Pavilion

The Pallet Pavilion, a community project led by Gap Filler, was de-constructed in April 2014 and is now the site of a new project called The Commons. The Commons is a versatile space available for events, performances, and private or corporate functions. The pavilion was a visually engaging, dynamic space built from wooden pallets and intended to host live music and community events. It aimed to meet a need in the city following the loss of venues due to the earthquakes and sought to capitalize on the excitement of the city's rebuild. The Pallet Pavilion was a temporary structure constructed from alternative materials and had a team of recent graduates and industry professionals involved in its design. The site is now a new project called The Commons and is available for various events and functions.
